Indoor Environmental Quality

 Healthy and Efficient Buildings

Achieving Better Environments

Good Indoor Environmental Quality (IEQ) is an essential component of any building, especially a green building. The building industry is increasingly focused on making its buildings greener, which includes using healthier, less polluting, and more resource-efficient practices. Does your building support a healthy environment for its occupants? Contact us with any IEQ solutions.

The Indoor Air Quality Guide

Best Practices for Design, Construction and Commissioning is new guidance for achieving enhanced indoor air quality (IAQ) in large buildings. The Guide provides strategies needed to achieve good IAQ using proven technologies without significantly increasing costs. Ensuring good IAQ means everyone breathes a little easier: occupants can experience improved health, comfort and productivity, and owners be confident in increased building value and reduced risk.

The Guide is a collaboration between EPA, American Society Of Heating, Refrigerating And Air-Conditioning Engineers, the American Institute of Architects, the Building Owners and Managers Association International, the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors of North America, and the U.S. Green Building Council.

The IAQ Guide describes 40 strategies for achieving critical IAQ objectives related to moisture management, ventilation, filtration and air cleaning, and source control. It also highlights how design and construction teams can work together to ensure good IAQ strategies are incorporated from initial design through project completion. A summary document of the Indoor Air Quality Guide – ideal for a general understanding of the importance of major IAQ issues can be downloaded for free at www.ashrae.org/iaq

Indoor Air Quality (IAQ)

Maintaining good indoor air quality and decreasing the risk of pollutants (and the Coronavirus ) is essential whether your building’s furnace or air conditioning unit is operating. We have solutions to filter indoor air whatever the season or time of year. IAQ is vital for schools, offices, and healthcare facilities.

Global Plasma Solutions

At Climate Engineering, we have been installing the Global Plasma Solution (GPS) system with great results for our clients. The GPS system uses an ionization treatment to clean the air of mold, viruses and bacteria. Positive and negative ions interact with pathogens by forming Hydroxyls (creating larger molecules) that rob mold, viruses, or bacteria of the hydrogen necessary for survival. The GPS system attaches to an existing HVAC unit.

The GPS system is the first air purification solution to test SARS-CoV-2, achieving a 99.4% reduction of the surface strain within 30 minutes. Centennial Controls is a GPS partner helping businesses reopen with a COVID 19 inactivation system, providing a safer environment for tenants and employees. Contact us to learn more about decreasing the risk of COVID and saving money with a GPS retrofit.
